Halloween would not be complete without Jack Skellinngton hanging on your door. He can hang indoors or outdoors depending on your decorating pleasure. It doesn’t have to be your front door or back door, but any door in the house. Or you may prefer to hang him on a wall. I doubt Jack would mind as long as he shares in your Halloween Fun.
You know his likeness is going to adorn cupcakes and cookies. For some reason his mug gets into something I make for Halloween. The kids absolutely love him and, of course, we have to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, too. He is quite a dapper gent and would look great wherever he hangs.

You can download Jack Skellinnington on either plain paper or cardstock. I prefer cardstock because his arms and legs are so skinny, but you decide what is best for you.
I hope you and your family enjoy having Jack around this Halloween.
I like something different and these Caramel Apples fit the bill. They have caramel inside of an apple. Although traditional Caramel Apples are popular, with a little bit of extra work, you can create a caramel apple treat for your family. Plus, you can create apple balls and drizzle with caramel syrup for an added treat sensation or roll these apple balls in sugar and cinnamon. Isn’t that great! You can create several different apple treats out of one simple recipe! Here’s what you do:
- Get yourself some Granny Smith Apples.
- Buy some Caramels.
- Wash the apples.
- Core the apples.
- Cut the apples in half.
- With a melon ball scooper, scoop out the inside of the apple halves.
- Melt the caramels.
- Pour the melted caramels inside the apple halves.
- With the apple balls, you can drizzle with melted caramels or roll them in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Or do both.
- Once the caramel has hardened inside the apple halves cut in slices and serve.
This seems to be an easier way for children and other members of your family to enjoy Caramel Apples. I like them. I also like the apple balls.
There are so very many clever ideas using various products that are easy decorations you can set up indoors and outdoors. I hadn’t thought much about glow sticks until I saw this clever idea using masks. They do light up a path for the trick-or-treaters who will be coming the end of October.
This would be nice for parties year round, just change the masks to something else that go along with your theme. I like using alternatives to candles. There is always stringing lights to lighting a pathway. It is quick and easy. I have found they are used year round. I have some out for summer bar-be-ques. They light up where I need the light in my patio and eating areas.

Free is always good. These pumpkin face stencils can be used for your pumpkin carving project or cut them out of fabric to decorate a t-shirt and I’m sure you can think of a dozen other uses for these free stencils.
Just off the top of my head, I’m thinking about using these stencils to paint some goofy and scary faces on pumpkins. You could paint bottles and fill them with candy. You could decorate all kinds of things with these stencils, maybe even make a costume or use them for face painting.

Have fun and create all kinds of great things . . . they may make some spooky cookies or cupcakes, too.
You can put a bit of Snazaroo into your Halloween costumes this year with this excellent face paint. It’s water based which makes it easy to apply and also easy to wash off. The Snazaroo line has a variety of products some have stencils that make quite an impression and are easy to use if you’re a bit nervous about your artistic skills.
I have found this set easy to use and create some scary and realistic effects. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to be creative with this Halloween kit.
