I Love Doing Christmas Crafts
And getting some help along the way with a die cutter makes it so much more fun.
There are great designs you can purchase and have a wonderful time creating some unique 3-D designs for fun and profit.
Let’s Take A Serious Look At The Big Shot
It’s by Sizzix. It’s easy to use . . . just follow the “sandwich” technique for putting things in place and you’ll be up and running in no time at all.
This is the Sizzix 657900 Big Shot Cutting/Embossing Machine With Extended Multipurpose Platform in Powder Bue/Teal. I did a review of it Here.
You may feel it’s a step down from the electronic cutting machines . . . and it very well may be, depending upon your perspective.
Yes, you do need to purchase the die cuts. You don’t need your computer, but you can print out items you’ll want to cut out in different shapes.
I did begin with the Big Shot and I moved up to the Silhouette Cameo and gave the Cricut Explorer a try. Yes, I have three machines that cut. Depending upon my mood and the project, I many times turn to my Big Shot. It works well with the projects I enjoy doing for Christmas. The good thing is I don’t have to think through a project . . . it does come together quite nicely with the dies. Yes, some planning is necessary, but it is simple for me to use.
Here’s a video that may help you out:
I hope you get the idea of why this is such a winner and no craft room should be without this handy dandy die cutter and embosser. It’s great for beginners who aren’t into the computer age . . . and don’t have a lot of money to spend on an electronic digital cutting machine.
It’s all a matter of taste and how you want to set up your craft room . . . and the projects you want to make.
Yes, crafting can get expensive . . . but if you can sell some of your crafts . . . you’ll be breaking even . . . I’m not going to tell you, you’ll be making a huge income . . . because you’ll be buying more supplies and materials . . . then down the road a bit, you’ll be doing projects for paying customers . . . this is when you’re in business . . .
For now, it’s important to have fun and see what wonderful things you can make for your family and friends . . . school, church and club projects . . . even invitations, Christmas cards . . . it’s wonderful to do something unique.
I do hope this was helpful. Here are some links you may want to explore:
