Curvy Keepsake Gift Box — Free Printable

These gift boxes seemed to have been popular a couple of years ago.

It may be time to bring them back!CurvyBox-Pumpkins

I do seem to get excited about things after their time has passed. I can’t believe that they’re not still popular. They are definitely cute. They are appropriate to decorate for all seasons and all holidays and special events.

Perhaps you can say that about all gift boxes.

I just know that these are a shape that seems to capture one’s imagination with all kinds of critters and holiday icons. They’ve been made into pumpkins and apples, turkeys and mummies, Santa’s and elves . . . even those ninja turtles and minions . . . and just about everything else.

What’s truly great about these gift boxes is that they go together without any glue. You just need to use a bone folder to curl the sides to help them along a bit and the end pieces fit together. They do hold together quite well and there’s plenty of surface space to decorate and add embellishments. And there’s plenty of room inside for some tasty treats.

Click the picture of the pumpkins and you’ll be taken to the PDF template to download and print out on your personal computer.

CurvyBoxCowI do like the giraffe . . . You can get as creative as you like with these. They are the perfect shape for a special gift by just using designer paper and adding a tag or a ribbon.

You can deck them out in the colors of your favorite football team or basketball team or baseball team or . . . and then there are all the great cartoon characters and super heroes . . . and the list can go on and on and on.

I’m sure there are some animals or food or characters you’d like to put on your curvy gift box. I’m wondering how it would work with a haunted house for Halloween . . . or a graveyard . . .

Maybe you could do something Steam Punk or Pokemon Go . . . That should definitely be a hit with the kids . . . young adults . . . and even older adults. It’s amazing how some things have taken off . . .

Well . . . I think you have plenty of ideas now . . . probably without my help . . .

Be sure to click on one of the pictures and you’ll be taken to the PDF template to download and print it out. I think once you get started you’ll want to do more. And when the kids see them . . . they’ll want to make them, too.

Have fun!

I love tags for mini albums and for gifts.

These are great for you to add your own images for various seasons and holidays.vg_tags_2

I like the background. It works well for most generic purposes.

This vintage look seems to be quite popular. I like it and use the style for most of my tags for all seasons and for all reasons.

I like to use my Silhouette Cameo Design Studio software to change the size of the tags and to add images. Then I can duplicate them to fill the page. Then get them cut out quickly and easily to use on gifts and for inserts in mini-albums and scrapbooks.

These tags are also great to add your own messages to them — could be seasonal greetings and add the “To and From”. On the back I like to add a personal message of some kind.

Enjoy your new tags.

A Truly Creepy Free Printable

Haddonfield 78

A Ray Keim paper craft free printable from Haunted Dimensions.

I noticed there was a new 3-D building on the website . . . but I wasn’t prepared for: “It is Halloween Night, 1978, in the quiet town of Haddonfield. Trick or Treaters eagerly run from house to house. Until they reach THIS house. HIS house. No treats here!”

Did you get a chill? I certainly did. I couldn’t believe how creeped out I got . . . Maybe I should stop writing my blog during the wee hours of the morning.

This model is 6-3/4 inches in height, 6-3/4 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches deep. For all of you Halloween fans, this may be right up your alley — the Michael Myers house . . .

It is much too creepy for me . . . maybe not for you . . .

I do love Ray Keim’s 3-D Haunted Dimensions paper crafts . . . this one bothers me. I doubt I’ll build it and display it in my house. I do hope you enjoy it and will visit Ray’s website and give him a generous donation.

I’m truly sorry . . . this usually doesn’t affect me like this . . .

Patriotic Pinwheel Free Printable

We’re getting closer to the 4th of July!

I’m going to put my flag out early this year so it can proudly wave in the summer breeze.4thofJulyPinwheel

We’re in our hazy, crazy, lazy days of summer. It is warm — some days downright hot . . . but it is summer and we love the slower pace of things . . . except for the traffic. Everyone is out and about — some still working while others are deciding on the right spot to vacation. There are those who have gotten their backyards together for BBQs and summer entertaining.

You can make several of these pinwheels and place them throughout your yard. They’re an easy way to get red, white and blue colorfully displayed.

Just click the picture to the right and you’ll be taken to the PDF to print out.

These work well using a pin and pushing the pin into a pencil eraser. If you want a longer stick, it is suggested that you put a pencil eraser on the top of the stick and push the pin into it. Adding a little bead between the back of the paper and the eraser gives a bit of freedom to the paper pinwheel allowing it to spin easier.

These are colorful and look nice in the flower beds, too.

These are great to make and set out on all patriotic holidays. It’s a nice way of showing America’s colors.

The most important thing to me is sharing time with family and friends. We are truly blessed in so many ways . . . it’s a nice time to reflect upon our many blessings while watching the firework displays . . . or eating a nice cold slice of watermelon . . . after having a hot dog or hamburger . . . or BBQ ribs . . .

Don’t forget to make s’mores . . . or whatever your family tradition.

Be safe!

I Love Unusual Boxes

Unusual Boxes Are Especially Great When You Can Make Them Yourself.

These work for all occasions . . . and it works well for you to keep some hidden treasures of your own safe.

I do love the design of this box and the ability to set it among other books for safe keeping. It’s also great to decorate for holidays and fill with goodies for family and friends.

No matter the design you choose and how you decide to use them, this free printable from Ray O’Bannon of Ravens Blight will be something you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Click the image at the right for the Gold Filigree Book Safe PDF. Or, if you prefer the Plain Black Book Safe. Oh, and you’ll need the Assembly Instructions.

I truly love Ray O’Bannon’s paper crafts. He does go for the dark side which is great for Halloween and making a Spell Book or to keep your lotions and potions. Or you can surprise everyone and do something completely unexpected . . .

It could be a good place to keep those secret family recipes . . . or other things of value. I think this may work quite nicely to give holiday goodies . . . I know one neighbor that may freak out when she sees it on her door step. But once she gets a good look at it and sees what’s inside . . . Well . . . maybe not . . .

Some people you just can’t please . . . and some just don’t have a sense of adventure . . .

I believe you can have a lot of fun with this Book Safe. You can decorate it however you wish for whatever occasion you choose. You could tuck some interesting goodies in the box — jewelry, pictures, special candies . . . gift cards . . . money . . . tickets to a play or concert . . . Maybe even a special card or small book . . .

Be sure to click the image and the links above and make a few of these for your own amusement and enjoyment.

I Love Paper Crafts

I’ve been surfing the web . . . again . . .

BoxCamera

I came across a lot of different fun paper crafts.

Strange how I’ll be looking for boxes . . . then I find 3-D houses and even a gazebo . . . and I thought, Yes!! This is perfect for spring and summer. I could have some fun decorating this with flowers and adding all kinds of things inside . . . Then I thought of other things that would be season appropriate . . .

And then there were vintage-type stuff that I truly love . . . and it got me thinking . . . about spring . . . and summer . . . and vacationing . . . and picture taking . . . so, a camera would be quite appropriate . . . even a vintage one . . . Just click the image and you’ll be taken to the page to download and print out the black box camera.

This is a box camera . . . and there’s a box inside where you can keep some small pictures . . . maybe a few sweet treats . . .

The internet is a definite feast for the eyes and the mind . . .

And can cause a lot of confusion in the process.Sneaker

I found so many things I’d like to make . . . and then wondered what would be appropriate on TwoCansOnAString to share with you . . .

Decisions, decisions, decisions . . .

I had to do a lot of thinking . . . and wondering what you would like to make. Do you want something simple or quite involved? Would you like it to be functional or decorative?

I decided on a sneaker . . . something you could make and fill with goodies . . . Also something I associate with summer . . .

Just click the image and you’ll be taken to the PDF for downloading and printing. There’s also a white shoe version you can print out here.

I hope you found this post helpful and worthwhile. Have fun putting the cameras and sneakers together!
