My Precious Diva

My Yorkshire Terrier Diva and I have been together one year today!!!

This bundle of love arrived to her “forever home” a year ago.DSCN0024_edited-1

This is truly cause for celebration!!! She’s still training me . . . I can’t imagine my life without her.

This first year has been a joyous adventure . . . with many more years to come. She’s a California girl . . . she doesn’t like the rain . . . she loves the sunshine . . . she loves her walks and her backyard explorations.

I’m sure everyone believes their dog is the smartest and the best . . . and this is how it should be. We are very blessed to have such loyal precious companions.

Diva has been very supportive with my blogging and my crafting. She gets in the thick of things when I’m decorating for each season and holiday. She likes to see what’s in boxes and selects what appeals to her. She prefers the bright colors of Christmas . . . and the smell of toys and goodies in her stocking . . . she does like ribbons and bows . . .

When I’m crafting and discover something missing, I can usually find lace and ribbons in her bed. She does have the decorating spirit.

As I said, this first year has been a joyous adventure for both of us . . . and we look forward to many more to come . . . I believe Diva is a blogger . . . and when I begin doing videos of my crafts . . . Diva will be part of that as well.

My life is truly enriched by having her.

I need to plan a special treat for us . . .

Diva’s New Hair Ribbon

Lil Diva got some new hair ribbons. I know I don’t have the knack of putting them in her hair, but she knew she looked pretty and sat in front of the mirror admiring herself. I thought as long as she was sitting still, it was time for some pictures . . . well, here she is with her pink bow with a pink lady bug in the center. The bow is from http://bowbizdogbows.com

We bought an assortment of bows to take us through all the holidays. We have bows for spring and summer, a pumpkin for Halloween and some nice red ones for Christmas — oops! I forgot Thanksgiving, but the cute pumpkin may have to do double duty. Maybe Diva would like a turkey.

For spring and summer we have a blue bow with a plastic bow in the center, here’s the lady bug, there’s a butterfly, two black and pink ones with rhinestones when Diva is feeling especially festive, sunglasses for summer and a patriotic one with a silver star for the 4th of July, but Diva may like it for Memorial Day. Diva was having a difficult time deciding between the sunglasses or the lady bug. She finally decided then we went through the task of getting it in her top knot. She was so very patient with me. She made some adjustments.

DSCN0024_edited-1Hopefully, the next pictures will have better top knots and you’ll be able to see the bows better. Or I should just take a close up of her head — but I love all of her and want all of her to show in the picture.

Introducing Diva

It’s not everyday that you find a quality breeder of Yorkshire puppies. I’ve been searching for awhile. Diane Schelach of http://firebrandyorkies.com knows her yorkies and has given me plenty of tips on raising one of her beautiful pups. I’d like to give a shout out to Bailey’s Mom who has raised my soon to be Diva. Precious Diva was born June 29, 2014, from Bailey and Chino. Those big eyes won me over! Here are a couple of pictures:

Isn’t she adorable!!! And such the “Diva.” A friend of mine raises Labs and trains them for rescue. He looked at the pictures of these Firebrand Yorkies and said, “They’re scruffy little things, aren’t they?” Yes, indeed, they are and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Their fur is their calling card to cuteness. They are bundles of love that make great companions and they’re smart little beauties to boot. I’m eager to get acquainted with my new baby and together we’ll learn about each other. I’m no fool, I know this beauty is smarter than I am and she’ll be sizing me up as soon as she arrives to her new forever home.

I’ve got shopping to do. Diva needs all new things . . . it’s going to be Christmas in March for her. Oh my goodness, there’s Easter . . . I did find a cute Halloween costume for her . . . there’s going to be quite an adjustment from Wisconsin weather to California weather — sunshine and warmer temperatures. I’ll keep you posted on how she adjusts.

Here are a couple of links to things I’ve been thinking about getting for my little Diva:

Here’s a cute little snuggle toy for her. Maybe she would like something else for chewing on. Maybe a bear or a duck, hummm lots of decisions to make. I may take her shopping to pick out a toy of her choice.  She needs a comfy harness vest to keep her safe outdoors until she learns her new yard.

Oh, yes, here’s the Halloween costume I found for her:

A lady bug, can you believe that!! I know, Easter comes next. We’ll learn about hide and seek. I’m sure she’ll be a great hunter of interesting stuff.  (Oops, I need to buy some interesting stuff for her to find.)

Thanks for stopping by!
