Easy Pull Apart Pizza Bread Recipe

I absolutely love easy recipes . . . but they also have to be delicious!!! I think this Pull Apart Pizza Bread fills the bill.

Ingredients Make 8 Servings
  • 2 Cans of Pizza Dough
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons of McCormick Italian Seasoning or parsley flakes
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 1 – 8 oz package of pepperoni (or meat of your choice — I like Canadian Bacon)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Add a ½ teaspoon of fresh garlic or garlic powder (it’s amazing)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cut pizza dough into quarters
  3. Cut the pepperoni or meat of your choice into smaller pieces
  4. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and toss so that the oil is spread evenly on each piece of dough
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes (or until the top is brown and the center is thoroughly cooked) IMPORTANT TIP: Be sure to check it in the middle before you pull it out. If the middle is still not cooked thoroughly be sure to leave it in another 5 minutes at a time until it’s done.
  6. Flip over on to a plate while it’s still hot.
  7. Serve with a side sauce and enjoy!

This is a great recipe to use when you are rushed for time — which could be just about everyday 🙂

No Bake Easter Bunny Racers

I remember way back when I was a child, I was told not to play with my food . . . but now . . . it’s wonderful to play with food and make it into something delicious and delightful for the kids in your life . . . and those who haven’t grown up.

EasterBunnyRacers

What you see is how you make these Bunny Racers. Yes, you’ll need a Twinkie, Peep Bunnies, Pretzels, Marshmallows and Spring M & M’s. You’ll also need some frosting to use as “glue” to stick the pieces together.

You can put these together however you see fit. I’d start with the Twinkie. I’d make up the race car by cutting a marshmallow in two and put on the front wheels then add M&M hubcaps (As I mentioned, I’d use frosting to “glue” the marshmallows onto the Twinkie and the M&M’s onto the marshmallows). I’d then cut a slot out of the Twinkie to set the Bunny Peep inside. I’d add the pretzel windshield — I’d also break out the bottom of the pretzel to make the points for stinking the pretzel into the Twinkie. I’d then cut another marshmallow to make the back tires with M&M hubcaps.

Yes, these are no bake and great fun for the kids to make. You can add “headlights” a front “grill” on your race car and you may want to put “goggles” on your bunny using frosting gel. This “food craft” opens up a lot of imagination and creativity for your youngsters.

Have fun!

Easter Bunny Rolls Recipe

EasterBunnyRolls

Easter is a wonderful time of year when we remember the recipes of our childhood and bring them back for our family to enjoy. It’s always fun to twist dough into interesting shapes to kick off the holiday of your choice — now it’s Easter and these bunnies are a great hit at my house and I’m sure they’ll be a hit at yours, too.

These bunnies have an orange glaze brushed on top. It makes for a delicious treat to add to your Easter Breakfast or Brunch.

Bunny Rolls

This recipe comes from Good Housekeeping magazine and yields 10 small bunnies and 4 large ones

Ingredients

    • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 package active dry yeast
    • 3/4 tsp ground cardamom or allspice or cinnamon or nutmeg
    • 1 1/4 cups milk
    • 1/2 cup butter, margarine, or shortening
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 tblsp finely shredded orange peel
    • 1/4 cup orange juice
1 Orange Icing
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powder sugar
  • 1 tsp finely shredded orange peel
  • 2 – 3 tblsp orange juice

Instructions

    1. In a large mixing bowl combine 2 cups of the flour, the yeast, and cardamom Instead of cardamom you can use AllSpice or Cinnamon or Nutmeg. Set aside.
    2. In a medium saucepan heat and stir milk, the butter, the 1/3 cup sugar, and salt just until warm (120 degree F to 130 degree F) and butter almost melts.
    3. Add milk mixture to dry mixture along with eggs. Beat with an electric mixer on low to medium speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl. Beat on high speed 3 minutes. Using a wooden spoon, stir in orange or lime peel, orange or lime juice, and as much of remaining flour as you can.
    4. Turn dough onto a floured surface. Knead in enough remaining flour to make a moderately soft dough that is smooth and elastic (3 to 5 minutes total). Shape dough into a ball. Place dough in a lightly greased bowl; turn once. Cover; let rise in a warm place until double in size (about 1 hour).
    5. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Divide in half. Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
    6. Lightly grease two cookie sheets. (Large bunnies will go on one sheet, the small bunnies will go on the other.) For large bunnies, roll one portion of dough into a 14×10-inch rectangle. Cut rectangle in half crosswise. Divide one portion of this dough in half and roll each half into a rope about 16 inches long. On one of the lightly greased cookie sheets, overlap one end of strip over the other to form a loop; bring the end that’s underneath up over the top end, letting one end extend on each side to make ears. Pat tips of ears to shape in point. Make a second large bunny with remaining rope.
    7. Cut remaining half of rectangle into 6 strips, 10 inches long. Roll 5 strips of the dough into ropes about 12 inches long. Shape 5 small bunnies as above on the second baking sheet.
    8. With remaining strip of dough, shape 2 large balls and 5 small balls of dough for the tails. Moisten ball and place atop dough at bottom of loop. Press tails onto dough.
    9. Repeat with remaining dough making 2 more large bunnies and 5 more small bunnies. After shaping, cover and let rise until nearly double (30 to 45 minutes). Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degree F. Bake small bunnies 11 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Bake large bunnies for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets; cool on wire racks. Frost while warm with Orange Icing, if desired. Makes 4 large bunnies and 10 small bunnies.
Icing:
  1. In a small bowl combine 1-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel. Stir in enough orange juice (2 to 3 tablespoons) to make for drizzling consistency.

There, you did it! Enjoy!

You can always go for the Pillsbury Rolls you can find at your favorite market and avoid all the hard work. Yes, they will taste different, but it all comes down to your personal preference.

Easy Easter Fudge Recipe

One can absolutely go crazy with Easter treats. This is a deliciously, simple fudge recipe that you can use for just about any season, but give it try for Easter and see what you think. It has a cotton candy look to it, but you can always add nuts if you like or even sunflower seeds if you want a little crunch to your fudge.

Cotton-Candy-Fudge4_edited-1

Ingredients
2 cups sugar

3/4 cup butter
12 ounces white chocolate or vanilla chips
7 ounce jar marshmallow creme
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
10 ounce packet Duncan Hines Cotton Candy Frosting Creations flavor mix
Pink food coloring

Directions
Line a 13×9 inch pan with foil and spray with nonstick spray.

Combine sugar, butter, heavy cream and butter in a saucepan, cooking and stirring over low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Once the sugar is dissolved, bring the contents to a boil while stirring for about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and mix in the marshmallow creme and vanilla chips until all of the chips are melted.

Pour 3/4 of the mixture into the foil-lined pan.

Add the cotton candy flavor mix to the saucepan and stir until well mixed. Drizzle spoonfuls of the cotton candy mixture over the mixture already in the pan. Add 2-3 drops of the pink food coloring in various areas on top of the fudge in the pan, and then cut through the fudge with a butter knife to make the swirls.

Cover and allow to set in the refrigerator.

Remove the fudge from the pan by picking up the foil and then cutting into squares.

It’s ready to serve!

Rice Krispies Easter Egg Treats

hidden-surprise-easter-egg-treats_edited-1

I have to hand it to Kellogg’s Rice Krispies to come up with a uniquely new idea for their tasty treats. As you can see from the picture, you use the pastel M & M’s, but did you figure out using those plastic eggs as the mold? That completely blew me away. I may want to get the larger plastic eggs to do these up right, but the small ones are good, too. It all depends upon what you can find . . . and what other candy goodies you may want to hide inside.

Here’s the recipe compliments of http://ricekrispies.com

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 Plastic snap-apart 3 x 2-in Easter eggs
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz., about 40) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows
  • OR
  • 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
  • 6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal
  • 1/2 cup M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies
  • Canned frosting or decorating gel (optional)

DIRECTIONS

1. Clean, then coat inside of plastic eggs with cooking spray. Set aside.2. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add JET-PUFFED Marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

3. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.

4. Using greased hands, firmly press 1/4 cup of the cereal mixture into each plastic egg half. Use fingers to make hollow center in each half. Remove from molds. Place on wax paper. Cool slightly.

5. Place about 6 M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies in one half of each egg. Gently press two halves of each egg together until they stick. Cool completely.

6. Decorate with frosting and additional M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies (if desired). Best if served the same day.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: Follow step 1 above. In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 3 through 6 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.

Notes:
For best results, use fresh marshmallows.

1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows.

Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.

Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container.

  • 1 (12 oz) bag butterscotch chips, more chocolate chips, or peanut butter chips
  • 1 (12 oz) bag chow mien noodles
  • Cadbury mini chocolate eggs, but you can use M&Ms or Jelly Beans or whatever you like.
  • Peeps if nest is large enough.
