Here’s A Change From Candy Apples or Caramel Apples . . .
A nice coating of chocolate over your apple — red or green would be a delicious surprise for the guests at your Halloween Party.
It could just be me, but I found them difficult to eat . . . and I wasn’t a real fan of candy apples. The caramel ones were all right, but biting into them was an issue for me. I would usually slice my apple up . . . but that’s just me . . .
So, I wanted to give you something entirely different, if you’re having problems with the traditional coated Halloween apples. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
You’ll need to wash up your apples. Remove the stem. Insert some sticks in the top. Melt 2 cups of chocolate morsels and 1 tablespoon coconut oil in the microwave, put in some black food coloring drops and dip the apples to your heart’s content. Place them on a parchment covered cookie sheet to set. Then dip again.
The chocolate coating will break off, but they do look lovely.
These will be a wonderful hit at your party.

These Popcorn Ball Pumpkins are flavored with orange jello and decorated with mini Tootsie Roll stems and green leaves you flatten and shape from green fondant.
They are excellent for parties — young and old alike enjoy popcorn balls. The kids may enjoy helping you make these little pumpkins.
Let’s get this party going!
Popcorn Ball Pumpkins Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12 cups of popped popcorn
- 1 3ounce box of orange flavored Jello
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup of corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- mini Tootsie Roll candies for the stem
- green fondant for the leaves
Directions:
- Pop your popcorn.
- Melt the butter in the microwave.
- Stir in the jello and corn syrup.
- Microwave again allowing it to reach a full boil.
- Mix in the baking soda and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Mix in the popcorn. I use a little bit at a time to get it covered evenly.
- Microwave the whole thing for about 30 seconds if you want it gooey and a bit longer if you prefer crispy.
- You can either butter your hands or use plastic bags with non-stick spray on them to use as “gloves” for the kids. You’ll be making this orange popcorn into balls.
- Add the mini Tootsie Roll stem and press in while the popcorn call is still warm and pliable.
- Add the fondant leaf.
There you have it, a delightful treat for the eyes and the taste buds.

Witches Brew Scented Bleeding Skull Candle by Wicked Wicks
The skull is filled with red wax, when lit “bleeds” out the eye sockets. This is truly creepy which makes it perfect as a centerpiece for your Halloween bash.
The candles are Flamable and should be set on a flat non-fammable surface. Be sure to trim the wick to no more than 1/4 inch. And be sure to keep the candle away from anything that could catch fire.
As always never leave a lit candle unattended. And keep out of reach of children.
I know I am full of warnings, but candles are not toys. This is a novelty item that would be good to light when your guests have arrived to give them the full affect of this creepy candle. Then snuff it out and enjoy your party. Safety first.

I absolutely love paper crafts. Ravensblight.com has a new collection of mini haunted houses that are fast and easy to make.
The creator Ray O’Bannon has a creepy little tale about this trio of mini houses that stand about 5 inches tall. They can be tucked away nicely in any little area in the house.
I believe this would be a wonderful introduction to paper crafts for your youngsters who would love to create this little trio of mini haunted houses that have been abandoned, but remain to decay . . . they do have ghostly visitors who make themselves at home . . . I wonder . . . a mini haunted house neighborhood within your home . . . the concept gives me chills . . .

Have You Made Jello Worms?
If you can make jello, then you can make these squiggly worms to delight and disgust your family and friends.
All right! Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 – 3 ounce packs of a red jello of your choice
- 1 package of unflavored gelatin for extra firmness
- 3/4 cup whipping cream
- 3 cups of boiling water
- green food coloring, about 15 drops
- 100 flexible straws or enough to fill your container — or you can bundle them together with rubber bands
- tall container about 1 quart in size
Directions:
- Empty the packets of gelatin into a bowl and add the boiling water.
- Allow to cool to lukewarm before adding the whipping cream and drops of green food coloring.
- Bundle up your straws and put them in the tall 1 quart container.
- Fill up your straws allowing the mixture to flow into the container.
- Allow your jello to set until firm in the refrigerator.
- When the jello has set, hold the straws under warm water. The worms should slip right out of the straws. Pinch one end to get it moving. Be sure to catch them in a bowl.
This is an interesting recipe that takes some time to set and some effort in getting them out of the straws. In the end it is all worth it.

These delicious pretzel sticks will dress up your Halloween Snack Table
These are easy and fun to make. The kids would love to give you a hand.
You and the kids will have a great time decorating pretzel sticks with sprinkles and edible eyeballs to create an assortment of Halloween Monsters.
You’ll need:
- wax paper to cover a cookie sheet
- cookie sheet
- pretzel sticks
- sprinkles in a variety of colors
- edible eyes
- candy melts
Feel free to add what you like to make these little monsters.
Directions:
- Cover your cookie sheet with waxed paper.
- Melt the candy melts following package instructions.
- Lay out your pretzel sticks and put your sprinkles in separate bowls with a teaspoon in each one.
- Once the candy melts have melted, you’re going to dip a pretzel stick into the melted goo.
- I leave some bare pretzel to handle, but you can get all gooey if you prefer.
- I turn the pretzel as I’m sprinkling on the sprinkles.
- I let them set on the waxed paper before adding the edible eyes.
- I repeat the process until all the pretzel sticks are covered with sprinkles.
- I use some left over candy melt to stick on the edible eyes.
- There you have it!!
